Art Deco wardrobes (7b)
This is a showstopper piece of Deco furniture. Inspired by the 'Skyscraper' style of Paul Frankl, this design is both stepped
vertically and stepped back on the sides. The use of stained glass decorative panels really lifts the whole piece to something
special. The stained glass panel's design of a 'Rising Sun' motif introduces some lively colour to add a Jazzy touch to the
overall look. The robe was fitted out exactly to the customers' requirements, with a central wardrobe hanging rail to fixed &
adjustable shelving. LED lights are fitted into the top of the inside of the central 2 door robe, to light up the stained glass
panels in the evening for mood lighting, which will look stunning. The handles, chosen to tie in with some new Deco wall lights
in the room, are in chrome & clear acrylic (but you can any handles you like). The end cupboard could be supplied with glass & glazing
bars or a matching oak panel. We originally looked at a range of finishes &
colours for the robes before deciding on oak. Shown below are some different colour & design variations.

3 & 4 Door design variations;
|
|
|
The 3 & 4 door wardrobes above are stunning pieces of Deco furniture, whichever version you prefer. You can see a straight 3 door robe above left,
but as soon as you introduce the stepped profile & breakfront it becomes a gorgeous modern Deco piece of furniture. While this would be an
expensive piece of furniture what an impact it would make in a room. The interior can be fitted out any way you like. Made to order.
The 6 designs above show how you play around with the design in any number of ways. From having the furniture painted all a
single colour or all in 1 wood finish, to adding different panels, or glazed end doors, or making the whole piece wider. Then you
can take this a step further with the choice of colour for the overall design, see the colour variations below. Needless to say
the more detail and variation you have the more expensive the piece becomes, but it probably justifies this for the final look.
As designer makers we can produce any style of Deco robes you want, in any size, any material / finish, any internal fit-out, etc.. We can do
individual freestanding robes, as shown above to runs, L shapes, walk-in closets, built-in robes; just ask. Every one is bespoke made to order,
so you can tailor to your exact needs. We can work with clients anywhere in the world no problem.
Handle positions;
|
|
Besides the fact that the right handles can really add to the look of a piece of furniture, even the position of the handles
has an impact on the overall look. Above left the handles are all at the same height, which gives a nice visual balance.
Above right the handles drop in height from the middle 2 doors, further emphasising the stepped look of the piece.
