A couple of lovely interesting wooden Art Deco table lamps. The one above left is a more elegant & subtle design, the one on the right is a bolder Deco design. The stepped base is pure Deco, with the overall shape & massing echoing a skyscraper. The marquetry design emphasises the Skyscraper look for a striking design. The main column is hand marquetry veneered with a Skyscraper design in contrasting dark & light wood. We can use any woods you want, which is especially useful if you want to match in with other room furnishings. The base & top steps were painted a dark grey brown to provide maximum contrast with the woods - these could be painted any colour you prefer, or veneered/made in wood.
These lamps are all made to order. They are not cheap; just making the lamp itself takes time, but then adding the faces in marquetry adds much more time (requires a high level of craft skill to make it look good). We don't supply lamp shades to go with the lamp, as this is personal taste & most customers prefer to choose their own. Supplied with a 2.5M cable. Cable colours are available in white, black & gold, etc; let us know what you would prefer. The lampholder has an integral on/off switch. Please specify if you want the lampholder to hold bayonet or screw type bulbs. The shade sits on the lampholder & is held secure with a screw thread. Made to order, allow approx 6 - 8 weeks to make. We don't disclose sizes or prices until we've agreed a spec with a customer.
Shown above are subtle differences in the veneers, so you can choose which way round you prefer them. The design can be in either light or dark veneer on a dark or light wood background. Or as the top picture you can alternate these on each face.
Shown above is a taller version of the above Skyscraper style lamps. It visually looks even more impressive for being bigger. It is shown next to one of our Donald Deskey Cubist style marquetry veneered lamps, which is itself not small.
