Furniture as Art! This Art Deco dining table is made by the Cubist pattern Marquetry veneered top design. The designs were inspired by Walter Dorwin Teague designs for Kodak cameras, but it transferred wonderfully to the table top. The base is a simple Modernist framed 4 legs, with a small stepped in detail at the foot. The base could be veneered in any of the top woods you prefer, or it could be lacquered. Besides, it's the top you look at not the base. The Abstract top looks wonderfully classy, and being finished with several layers of lacquer it is hard wearing for every day use. We can also a matching coffee table and sideboard. The dining table can, within reason, be made to whatever size you want - there are practicalities involved in using various wood veneers, especially due to sheet sizes. We can also choose wood veneers that you prefer. Marquetry is a highly skilled craft, but it offers such quality to a piece of furniture. Made to order. We don't give sizes or prices until we have agreed a spec. with a customer.
We can vary the table top designs as shown below, whether they be marquetry veneered or painted, and the proportions can be changed to the size of top you want. You might want consider a glass top as well, especially for the painted top versions.
Above top left - we could do a distressed paint finish on the table if you prefer. While I don't think it goes so well with this style of crisp design, it's all about personal choice. The painted versions of the table we can do in lots of alternate colour combinations, just speak to us about what you are looking for. You can even pick out the feet in another colour for a bit more interest. All made to order.
