Art Nouveau / Jugendstil / Arts & Crafts styles all ran alongside each at the same point in time, with much overlap in the styles. These tables designs fall into that same mix, combining Arts & Crafts simplicity with Art Nouveau colouring to produce some striking new designs. A period design was to be painted onto the splayed legs, adding to the decorative effect. The range of colours shown is strongly Art Nouveau in tone.
This was a version of a Wm Morris table we did a few years ago, and which formed the design basis for these new table designs. These designs are classifiable as Art Furniture - that style where the integrity of solid wood Arts & Crafts furniture was crossed with the styling of artist designers like Baillie Scott, Mackintosh, Bradley, etc. We can make these tables in a whole host of sizes, wood/paint combinations, different shaped tops, finishes, etc. Please enquire for more details.
The tables designs above have more of a Baillie Scott / Jugenstil flavour to them, with the chevron patterns on the legs.
