The 2 photos above show a built in Voysey style wardrobe. The only real difference between them is the use of typical Voysey long strap hinges. Some people prefer them with, some without, the strap hinges. The hinges & handles (all made bespoke for this robe) are expensive but do add a stronger Voysey look. Shown with matching Voysey handles, with a heart pull. The robe itself is very elegant in a mid Oak finish
The customer was presented with a range of design options for the treatment of the robe, shown in the photos below. These double robes were made to measure bedroom alcoves either side of a chimney. One side of the room had a typical sloped ceiling, so the robe had a matching oak filler panel above it. The robes could have been built into a square corner of a bedroom, or even have been freestanding. We can design completely new wardrobes in Voysey's style, be they freestanding or a run of fitted robes (with modern interior fittings - most people prefer the practicality of the fitted interior but appreciate it's the exterior 'Look' that is the important thing. Feel free to contact us to discuss this further. Made to order.
The above photos show the plain oak version of the robes. One version of the robes had a ceiling infill panel shaped to fit a sloping ceiling. There are various permutations you could do, with either Oak doors & frames, or the frames painted to match the window woodwork in a soft Voysey grey green.
