These 2 photos above show a painted version of the Voysey oak style wardrobe, shown in this section. Well known as Voysey is for his pared down clean lines aesthetic, he was also a decorative artist throughout his life. We took his decorative approach to painting this wardrobe, matching the green colour to a famous painted clock case he did (which we also do). We then incorporated some Voysey decorative designs in the panels. As well as giving you some ideas it shows how you can adapt & play with his designs to produce new work.
The Voysey handles, with a heart shaped pulls, are made bespoke for this robe, & add a stronger Voysey look. The robe itself is very elegant in a mid Oak finish. The robes could have been built into a square corner of a bedroom, or even have been freestanding. We can design completely new wardrobes in Voysey's style, be they freestanding or a run of fitted robes (with modern interior fittings - most people prefer the practicality of the fitted interior but appreciate it's the exterior 'Look' that is the important thing. Feel free to contact us to discuss this further. Made to order.
The 2 robes above are lighter in colour than the top 4 robes, using a not uncommon Voysey blue/grey/green colour. If anyone thinks Voysey wouldn't have used such a colour there are photos of it used on original wardrobes in one of his houses. It is shown plain in just 1 colour, plus with typical Voysey heart cut-outs in the door panels. Why not have a whole bedroom decorated, as the photo beneath?
