A large oak coffee table with Voysey style influences. The square shape ties in with Voysey's preference for 4 square recfectory styling in his tables. I'm not aware he designed any coffee tables as such, as these developed after his period. But it's easy to design new pieces in his style, like this coffee table. The photo doesn't do justice to this piece. The beautiful grain on top, made this a stunning piece for all it's simplicity of design. Alhough this is a large coffee table, it can be made to whatever size you wanted, and whatever finish. Other Voysey design details could have been included on the table, such as tapering the legs to octagonal, table top thumb nose moulded edge, curved rails, etc..

The drawing bottom LH is the back of an envelope original sketch for this, with a more recfectory table treatment of the bottom rails. The finished stretcher rails took their inspiration from his dining chairs. Also, the client wanted to have the option to add a lower shelf at a later date.

Finished with a satin lacquer finish. You can of course specify the table be left in natural Oak as Voysey might have. Voysey generally specified his furniture be left in a natural oak finish, to age gracefully, but modern life requires the table be lacquered, to prevent marking day to day (think coffee cup rings, red wine glass marks, etc). And if the interior you want the coffee table has lots of antique Arts & Crafts furniture we could give this a darker finish to blend it in with these original pieces. Your choice.
