The Oak range ~ Sideboards
The following designs are designed to give you a better choice - the sideboard comes in 2 door and
3 door versions. They are all supplied in Oak, stained to emphasis the rich colour of the wood. Traditional construction and
jointing methods are used. The bottom front rail can be straight, or shaped a couple of ways as shown above.
A range of handles can be supplied with these, as shown below. You could also have strap hinges for these, would really
give it a strong Arts & Crafts look. The sideboards can both be supplied with dresser or bookcase tops, see following page.
2 door sideboard design variations;

Shown above are some design variations for the 2 door sideboard. The top 2 photos show the bottom rail shaped differently.
The photo bottom left shows the side legs widened to exagerate the sloped sides, in the manner of Liberty pieces (but which
can ultimately be traced back to Wm Morris's Artisan suite). The bottom right photo shows the sideboard with straight legs.
The bottom 2 also show a center rail between the 2 doors, not included in the top 2. As they are made to order you can adapt
any of the details, even the sizes & proportions, or wood, or handles & hinges. Thats the beauty of bespoke work.

Shown above is another version of the 2 door sideboard with decoratively painted door panels, in
an Arts & Crafts matching style. This opens up all sorts of possibilities for furniture. While
not to everyone's taste, but visually striking non the less. The picture on the right is of a 1
door version, nice for a storage cupboard, or maybe a bedside unit?
3 door Sideboard; Size W 170 x D 50 x H 88 cm / 67" x 20" x 35" .
Steel handles & hinges;

The above 2 photos show you an alternative way to treat the handles & hinges, in steel finish, which looks stunning.
Long strap hinges are a classic Arts & Crafts look. All of these fittings are blacksmith bespoke made and are expensive,
but really visually lift the furniture. These fittings were used on a Lutyens kitchen we made.
