When is an Arts & Crafts kitchen not an Arts & Crafts kitchen? There's more than 1 way to design an Arts & Crafts kitchen. This kitchen example shows how it is relatively easy to design a kitchen with a strong Arts & Crafts feel, but using standard kitchen units. The stained glass windows achieve this almost totally, without the need for expensive cabinetry.

The top kitchen feels totally Arts & Crafts in flavour with the addition of a new FL Wright / Mission style stained glass window. You hardly even notice the units. The units use a light oak Shaker style door, generally in keeping with this style. Another design aspect to bear in mind when trying to achieve this look is to include some display / open shelf units.
One other item, beside the window, can be used to transform a plain kitchen into something special. The use of authentic looking Arts & Crafts handles, as the example shown. You can see more handles in our Arts & Crafts section. Spend money on good handles, they'll pay for themselves day in day out.
