This was another of the earlier Morris & Co. tables designs c1865. The table was designed by Philip Webb in a Gothic style typical of their early work. It is actually a very pleasing design with a lot of interest. The use of 2 different wood finishes, for the top & base, is especially attractive. This table is really more of a sideboard or serving table than a dining table (due to height & height of bottom stretchers), but it could be adapted to a dining table quite easily.
The small table design below, with a round top, is a sucessful adaption of the larger table, in the same Gothic style. This table is suitable for use as a dining table. The legs of both tables have the same detailing, square & round sections, carved details, and yet they are not the same. We can make either of these tables, or any variation of them, in whatever size & finish / wood you wish. made to order.
This is another Morris & Co. dining table. Very simple in form, it is a revamped refectory table, with bobbin turned legs adding the interest; but the proportions are good on the eye. Another typical touch is the sloped legs. We can make this table in whatever size & finish / wood you wish, as made to order.
