This is a wardrobe style we've used many times, as it seems to fit that general style of art funiture associated with the Arts & Crafts. We've adapted it to a Mackintosh style. The 2 door wardrobe is shown in a medium oak finish, but it could have had a dark oak finish or been painted white or another colour. The top panels allow for some Mackintosh style decorative panels. This design shows one on Mackintosh's better known stained glass designs used for the top panels.
The overall shape is quite simple in line with many Mackintosh designs. Mack often had furniture pieces with subtle face shapes, and we've echoed this with these robe designs, the top panels forming the eyes and the handles the 'nostrils'. The handles are typical Mack in shape, in an antique copper finish, made bespoke. The interior of the robe can be fitted out however you want, as made to order. We can make all size variations you want on these, from 2, 3, 4, 5, 6 door versions.
The robe above left has deeper top panels to incorporate a Mack bird design panel. The top right robe uses a classic Mack stencilled rose design (this was used on a bed we did by him, see bedroom index). This furniture is all bespoke made, we don't give out sizes until we've agreed a spec. with a customer.
