This is an example of stained glass windows setting the feel for a whole room. This open plan kitchen dining room is dominated by the tall CR Mackintosh style stained glass windows. The window proportions & use of squares of glass match the design of the tall ladder back chairs. The Mackintosh chairs complete the feel of the room. You don't really notice the kitchen furniture because of the windows, chairs, & rug. You set the room tone as Mackintosh in a subtle way. While the rug adds to the overall look it's probably not practical in a kitchen!
The kitchen itself need do nothing more than blend in with this style, with maybe some Mackintosh style handles, to achieve the look. So again, you could use a relatively inexpensive kitchen to do this.
While you might not be able to install such tall windows, this is just to give you an idea of what you can achieve. We could design many styles & sizes of Mackintosh stained glass windows which would do the same job visually.
One other item, beside the window, can be used to transform a plain kitchen into something special. The use of authentic Mackintosh looking handles, as the examples shown. There are now quite a few Mackintosh handle designs available. Spend money on good handles, they'll pay for themselves day in day out.
This kitchen is shown in cherry but could be made in whatever wood or finish you prefer. The brackets under the wall cupboards idea came from mack's Hill House kitchen.
