One of Eileen Gray's favourite pieces, this side table was used in her living room to the end of her life. In 1922 she showed it at an Amsterdam exhibition & it immediately attracted the attention of the De Stijl designers. The sculptural design, with it's 3D planes & use of colour are all De Stij features. Eileen Gray used it as a tea table, but it can be used as a bedside table or sofa table, and looks different from every angle viewed. Made to order.

It is interesting to compare Eileen Gray's table with Gerrit Rietveld's 'Berlin' chair, shown above right. The similarities are obvious, and the influence of Gray's piece on Rietveld's made clear.
