Three striking ornately painted Gothic lampbases, drawing heavily on Wm. Burges's style. They make for very decorative practical accessories in a Gothic room, where getting the details right is important. 2 of the 3 designs are directly inspired by some of Burges's painted furniture. The 3rd is a richer more ornately decorated lamp, but still very much in the Burges style. The bases themselves are very plain, flat surfaces intended for decoration - much as Burges would have done. The bases included some decorative studs for a bit more Gothic flavour. Approx. 12" high. Made to order.

The lamp above is a simple turned Gothic shape, with additional painted decoration in a vague Burges style. The design on the right was a sketch for another turned Burges lamp, with a bit crisper decoration & matching painted shade. Gives you an idea of what you can do with these things. The design on the left below shows another treatment of this style.
