These reproduction Bakelite Dolly switches on classic oak pattresses provide authentic styling whilst meeting modern safety standards. Inspired & modelled on 1920s era fittings. The hardwood finishes available are shown below; please specify finish(es) when ordering. The dome switch is available on either a black or white base body (ie the part behind the dome & in front of the wood. Please specify.

Dolly & Rocker switch collection;

These switches aren't strictly speaking Art Deco in style, but their period look & finish would allow it to fit in discreetly to a Deco interior scheme, especially if similar wood finishes are being used in the scheme. The LH switches are Dolly switches, the RH ones Rocker switches. The switches are available as single, double, triple, quad or 6 gang. There is a matching range of sockets available as well - see sockets page. Contact us with your requirements for a quote.

The wood pattress is available in 5 finishes, shown below.
The switch itself is available in white, bright chrome, satin chrome, black, bronze & brass finishes, as shown above.
The insert around the switch is available in black as standard, or white (optional).

Dimmer switches are also available, in the same combinations above, of number, finishes, button finish, etc. You will need some input from an electrician to help specify these.

We can also supply these switches with a matching hardwood collar, to fit around a surface mounted 25mm deep socket box. See sockets page for examples.

Please Note all light switches are 2-way as standard. Intermediate (INT) or double pole (DP) switches are available upon request ( an additional charge will be incurred for these).

Do you need an adapter kit for each switch ?

Will I need an adapter kit for my Bakelite switch?
It really depends on how or what you are fitting them to. You need an adapter kit if you are fitting a Bakelite switch onto an existing wall box (with oak pattress). The adapter fits to the wall box (as shown below) and the pattress is fitted to the adapter by using the long screws through the pattress from the Bakelite switch.

Finishes for patress boxes;

Please specify the finish(es) required for all pattress boxes. If more than one finish required please list every item & the finish required for it. The natural oak is finely sanded & ready to be painted, stained, waxed, etc. The other colours are hand waxed for a subtle sheen.

Please Note; Oak products - All Oak products are carefully selected, hand finished and stained. However we cannot guarantee that colour matches will be consistent between previous orders and singular orders where more than one item has been ordered. Any slight colour variation is due to the fact that the Oak is a natural product with varying degrees of grain structure. Any existing product that you are matching with new product may have aged and darkened with time.
