This is a showstopper bookcases & sideboard design with visually strong shapes influenced by the splayed shape & massing of Pylon shaped buildings from Egypt. It looks like an original classic piece of Egyptian furniture. It was directly inspired by the likes of Piranesi and the other C18th designers working in the then new Egyptian style. This piece would make a great impact in any interior, but does need to be scaled to the room. Both bookcase's cupboard doors would have different painted scenes. This piece can be used for several purposes, from entertainment/media center to display unit, drinks cabinet, bookcases, home office use, etc. The unit can have all open shelves, or some doors as we've shown - which allow for decorative designs to be applied to them. The shelves are fixed, not adjustable height, for both structural rigidity & because it's not possible to adjust them with sloped sides.
Overall the piece can be left clean and contemporary, or distressed to look more antique. We can decorate this anyway you want and in any colours you want. Hand painted pieces like this take a lot of time and skill to produce, they are expensive as you would expect. As this is made bespoke we can change the proportions, within reason, change the designs and colours used. The cupboard can be fitted with 1 -2 shelves. The large coved cornices are an integral part of Egyptian look, and will be painted with typical vertical stripes if preferred. Made to order, we don't disclose sizes or prices until we've agreed a spec with a customer.

The above photos show the room this range of furniture was designed for. It is a 1st floor living room in a prestigous Georgian hotel, with fabulous views from the 3 floor to ceiling windows. The aim to create something of a Gentleman's club vibe from Cairo c 1920's. With lots of palms, and various seating groupings. All the ceiling chandeliers will be replace with Arab style ornate lanterns. The ceiling height of the room is 3M/10 feet, so the furniture is larger than usual to keep in scale with the room. The door on the left will be boarded over and painted the same as the wall colour, and the left hand bookcase will largely hide this. The bookcase top sections and the top of the sideboard will provide lots of display space, while the base sections will provide a lot of storage for the hotel. We've shown below another option combining just one bookcase with an attached sideboard, to show how you can use various pieces to make different combinations.
