Egyptian style - Sideboard

If Egyptian furniture makers were still working in that style today this is probably what one of their sideboards would look like. Although a modern piece of furniture this looks very traditional in many ways, from the Pylon shaped front rails, to the breakfront change of depths and the figurative painting and colours. The sideboard uses sloped sides, typical of much Egyptian furniture and architecture. It could also be made with all open shelves rather than doors, or a combination of the 2.

There is a lot of work goes into a piece like this - hand made and painted pieces like this take time and skill to produce, they are not cheap to do. For the top you could use a painted top, or limestone (the classic Egyptian stone) marble, granite, quartz, glass, Corian, wood, whatever you like. The painting can be left clean and contemporary, or distressed, as shown, to look more antique. As this is made bespoke we can change the proportions, within reason, change the designs and colours used (as the version shown below).
