Gothic - Bookcases
This bookcase design us a variation in our 3 bay bookcases with Lancet arches. The proportions
are taller & narrower, giving it more of a Perpendicular Gothic look. It's provides a very
clean looking Gothic bookcase architectural shape and provides plenty of storage & display space.
The back can be smooth or with a tongue & groove look. These bookcases can be made in a range of
woods or a wide range of painted colours; we've shown some examples below. It can also add interest
to have the back panel in a contrasting colour, which emphasises the arches (see below). The bookcase
offers plenty of storage and display space, making them suitable for several uses, from home bookcase
to home office, kitchen dresser or bar for examples.
The bookcases are shown as a triple bay version, but they could be a single or double bookcase
or 4+ bays, or to fit a corner. Although shown as freestanding bookcases they can be built-in.
They could also have bottom cupboards with doors, as shown. The cupboard can be centred, on one
side, or every bay has a cupboard. The bookcases are made bespoke to order, so we can adapt
the dimensions to your requirement, we;ve shown a much wider version at the bottom to show how
different proportions might look. We change the colour or finish or wood. Usually one of the
middle shelves is fixed for a stonger carcass, with the rest being adjustable. Due to the scale
of bookcase delivery & access can be a problem and expensive; we will usually suggest they be
supplied in component form for straight forward assembly in the room they will sit. We don't do
quotations until we've agreed a spec with a client.
