These stained doors must be the most stunning Art Deco doors I've ever seen. They include classic design elements; a Jazzy look Cubist design, rising sun motif, speed lines, textured glasses, etc. These would dominate any room in which they were installed. We could reproduce these in what ever size & combination you wanted, from a single door to a pair or set of 4 of French doors, internal room divider doors, etc. The door proportions can be altered easily because the leaded glass design lends itself to being easily modified. The doors themselves can be in either a wood or your choice or painted / lacquered to any colour you want. We could even introduce more colour to the glass, but the clear textured / rippled glasses were typical of the Deco period. It is not cheap to make such doors. The weight of the doors should also be considered, as they need a strong frame to support the weight of glass & lead. Made to order.
The stained glass can be further elaborated, as shown above left, with the top flash highlighted in blue. We could also incorporate a design within a panel, as the windsurfer shown in the door top panel. We show the initial design for this above, which had too many curves, and the finished design, which is in keeping with the Cubist feel of the glass panel. Every door and glass panel begins life as a CAD drawing, to exactly the size you require.
Practicality is always a consideration with a door like this; the weight of the glass is held in place by soft lead lines, which can over time cause the panel to bow or sag, especially as a door is being moved a lot. Thin steel re-inforcing rods can be incoporated into the lead lines to strengthen them. But it probably also needs 3 small diameter steel rods, visible on one side of the glass, going across the design to help support the glass panel (basically thin wires are soldered to the lead lines on the line where the steel rods cross them, and the wires are twisted neatly around the rods.
