This is another striking Art Deco design piece of furniture that could be used for several purposes, from bookcase to home office, display or media unit, drinks bar, kitchen dresser, etc. While relatively straight forward to build it has a great shape, with the stepped Skyscraper styling at the top. The marquetry door panels, with classic rising sun pattern in contrasting veneers, really add something extra to the overall look, and are echoed with matching style door handles (see below). The open top shelves give plenty of storage or display space - the shelves could be fixed or adjustable whichever you prefer. The base section offers plenty of hidden storage, with shelving inside.
The bookcase can have a painted / lacquered finish, or be in a wood of your choice. As these cabinets are made to order we can change the sizes & proportions to your requirements. We could make up a wider run of bookcases or a whole home office in this style if you want.

The above bookcase is shown lacquered in a colour combination often used by the Deco designer KEM Weber, contrasting a darler wood against a sage green to great effect. This could be further accentuated by having the edges of the top section in a matching dark finish (This idea was used regularly by Paul Frankl and serves to emphasise the outline). Bottom left; we added another rising sun veneered panel at the top, to echo the door panels and link the whole piece even more.
As designer makers we can produce any style of Art Deco cabinets you want, in any size, any material / finish, any internal fit-out, etc.. We can do individual freestanding bookcases, as shown above to runs, L shapes, & built-in bookcases; just ask. Every one is bespoke made to order, so we can tailor it to your exact needs. We can work with clients anywhere in the world no problem. Consideration should always be given to getting large pieces of furniture into your house room. We don't give out sizes until we have agreed a spec with a customer.
Top right shows the group of veneers used to build up the design, a slow process requiring a high level of craft skill. The top LH photo shows the work in progress, each little piece is cut to fit and glued into the design piece by piece. Generally we will only supply handles like these as part of furniture we supply.
