Make a fantastic Deco impact in any interior with this stunning bookcase, looking totally Deco but treated in a fresh way. This is called having fun with Deco design. A new range of Deco bookcases designed to capture the look of stepped skyscrapers. Some of the designs have the Skyscraper shape further emphasised by the used of another colour for the edging around it, an idea borrowed from Paul Frankl. They can have totally open backs allowing them to be used as room dividers, either a single one or a pair oppisate each other. The open backs and plenty of shelf space make them ideal for displaying artefacts or books. The aim was to keep the central 'skyscraper' shape space open, to emphasis the shape, so glass shelves are fitted here. We could even fit an LED light in the top of the central section to hi-light any objects d'art.
The bookcase can have a painted / lacquered finish, or be in a wood of your choice. The stepped plinth adds strongly to the overall Deco look. Some of the designs below show a further Deco design detail having stepped tops to the bookcases. The skyscraper shape can be further emphasised in a couple of ways. We can add a panel at the back, which can be mirror (or satin mirror as the design below), or could be a wood veneered board or lacquered. We can also add a door to enclose the central shape in a variety of painted or wood finishes.
As designer makers we can produce any style of Deco bookcases you want, in any size, any material / finish, any internal fit-out, etc.. We can do individual freestanding bookcases, as shown above to runs, L shapes, & built-in bookcases and libraries; just ask. Every one is bespoke made to order, so you can tailor to your exact needs. We can work with clients anywhere in the world no problem. Access is always a consideration for bookcases into the room where they will sit. We don't discuss prices or sizes until we have agreed a specification with a customer.
There are endless design variations we can do with this style of furniture, as shown above. Not everyone wants the bookcase exactly the same proportions as our designs, so we can change the proportions to what you want; go taller or go wider, your choice.
Get carried away and have a whole wall of bookcases or a library with bookcases of various proportions, some taller some wider, capturing the asymetric feel of Deco architecture. This is just a quick design to show how these bookcases could be combined.
