Make the ultimate Deco statement with these stunning bookcases, display units, media centers and libraries. This is one for the brave hearted, a piece of OTT showstopper Deco, and looks very authentic. This is unlike any other piece of Deco furniture you've seen, and yet it is totally authentic to the Deco. That is because it traces it's design from Deco architecture not furniture. These designs were inspired by decorative work applied to Deco buildings. The bookcases are straight forward to make, they're really just a large canvas for the painted designs, and it is a practical piece of furniture as well. A joy to look at & use everyday.
What makes this range is the doors / panels designs and colouring. The black framing really adds a dramatic look to the overall look and creates a unified whole whether a single bookcase or a library. The Cubist patterns, especially the Vee shaped elements and the colours lift this out of the ordinary. This range was designed as a series of modules that could be combined in multiple ways, and we shown a wide range of design options below. We'll even produce some bedroom furniture using this range. You could have this bookcase as a freestanding or built-in piece. Such a piece could be used many ways, from a large home office to bookcase, or display /storage unit, or media centre or drinks unit. Although shown in just the colours shown, we could change these to anything you prefer. We don't discuss prices until we've agreed the design spec with a customer. Made to order.
It's easy to see how a straight run of display bookcases would look, as shown in the many examples above, but this range is flexible and can be planned to make an L shaped corner run of bookcases, as shown in the 2 designs above. They can go straight into the corner but look more interesting when the corner is angles at 45 degrees; the angled corner echoes the angles in the designs. The corner unit could be for display, books or a media center depending on your preference.
Below we show how flexible this range can be, especially combined with bespoke elements. This is a typical British arrangement see in many period homes, with a chimney breast and recesses either side fitted with bookcases. With good planning we can integrate all these elements into a unified whole. The central chimney breast section would be made bespoke, to accomodate the chimney width and depth. We can design and make a bespoke sfire surround that extends up to the bookcases's tops, and incorporates an overmantle mirror and shelf.
