One of our own Art Deco Skyscraper style bookcases or display units that certainly makes a visual impact. These would have a real presence in any interior or home office, capturing that great stepped outline of the skyscraper era. We adapted these bookcases from some similar bookcases we designed, which are more symetrical. These designs shown here have a more asymetric look, with 1 tower and stepped shelf unit on top. At the end we've shown a couple of wider versions of this bookcase, which combines a sideboard with the bookcase. The wider versions obviously offer much more storage and display space or if you need a bigger piece of furniture for the scale of your interior. Any such bookcase designs always draw on the influence of Paul Frankl's original pieces. The base is a relatively straight forward piece, it's the top sections where the real interest visually is. We can supply these bookcases in any single colour or wood finish, or a combination of 2 colours or a colour/wood finish.
The base comprises cupboards with a shelf in each and open shelf space in the middle (this could have a door as well if prerred. The upper sections mainly have doors following the stepped outline, with shelves inside. The right hand open shelf section has a stepped back and side panel to add to the overall Deco look. All topped off by top boxes to complete the Skyscraper look. As these cabinets are made to order we can change the sizes & proportions to your requirements and can finish them in a wide range of finishes & colours, and we've shown many examples of different looks below to give you some ideas. The top section can be either way round. We don't discuss design or prices until we've have agreed a specification with a client.

The wider versions of the bookcase emphasise the asymetric look even more and visually combines the sideboard function with the bookcase. The base can be any combination of open shelves or doors.
