Make a fantastic Deco impact in any interior with this sideboard cabinet, looking totally Deco but treated in a fresh way. These are original designs but definately capture the essence of Deco. The furniture could be quite minimal, with just some elaboration from wood details and handles, to having veneered marquetry door panels to accentuate the look. The cupboard could be used as a sideboard, media unit, drinks cabinet, home office, bar, etc. The boxy shape, stepped in plinth, and stepped door handles are all strong Deco elements. The wardrobe or storage cupboard has matching marquetry style handles, but in a vertical format to match the cabinet shape. The cabinets are quite straight forward to make.
As these pieces are made bespoke, we can make any design changes you want. For example, in the 2 cabinets above, the rising sun handles have been shown 2 ways - either asymmetric or symetrical. It's a subtle difference. The unit can have a hand painted or lacquered finished. Of course you can have wood finishes as well. The cabinets can be fitted out as you prefer, but are generally are supplied with 1 or 2 shelves, with he wardrobes having a hanging rails(). You could go for a cleaner look and omit the door panels altogether, or just have them as plain veneered panels. As these cabinets are made to order we can change the sizes & proportions to your requirements. We can do these as a run of wardrobes in many combinations.
The 2 cabinets above are even more interesting for introducing Shaker door panels featuring the classic rising sun design veneered marquetry panels. With the matching handles this makes a very strong design statement. The white lacquered cabinet gives the best contrast with the woods. The green version was based on a KEM Weber colour combination he used quite often. The size and position of the panels can be changed if you prefer.
The top 2 designs show the rising sun design either centred and symmetrical, or off-centre asymmetric. Bottom left shows the finished handles, with typical stepped Deco moulded edges. Bottom right shows a portrait version of the same handle. Generally we will only supply handles like these as part of furniture we supply.
