These cabinets / sideboards are a direct legacy of Paul Frankl's Scraper style cabinets & bookcases. We've shown version painted black & white (a colour Frankl used little). The stepped top & stepped plinth are what give them the 'Skyscraper' styling. The middle space was left open, to convey a sense of depth, a play on light & shadow & to allow some colour to be introduced to liven the piece up. Shown below are some further eamples showing different colour combinations & proportions. They really offer a wonderful Deco statement & splash of colour. They could also be made with a wood finish. Made to order, so they could be finished in other finishes as well.
