This is where the Art in Art Deco came from! This is one for the brave hearted, a piece of showstopper Deco. This is where you really want a large splash of colour / art in the room as a focal point. This large coffee table design was inspired by the Josephine Baker bas relief at the Folies Bergere, and blown up in scale, treating it as a large canvas for the design, like a Pop Art painting. We've shown quite a few colour options below, or we can create it in whatever colours you want. The edge of the table top has a several stepped profile, echoing the stepped shapes in the design. The table itself is clean and minimal so as not to detract from the top design - but we could design a Cubist style base to compliment the top design if you want. Even though the top is lacquered/varnished uou would probably want to sit a piece of clear glass on top of it for added long term protection (which you can buy locally). This coffee table would be shipped flat and just requires the legs to be secured to the top (we pre-fit the legs before dis-assembling them). Made to order - we don't give ouit sizes or prices until we've agreed a spec with a customer.

The source of the Josephine Baker design is the large stone carved Cubist bas relief on the facade of the Folies Bergere in Paris, c.1928. It is still as striking today for the virtuoso design and carving, by it's maker Maurice Pico/Picaud.
