This vanity stand was based on a Voysey bureau design, which was a much taller more substantial piece of furniture. We just took the base section of the original design and adapted it for the vanity stand. It is a quirky piece, but based on Voysey's design. What really makes the piece are the end 'faces', formed with the 2 eyes and a heart - this needs some space around it to appreciate the face designs. Voysey, and Mackintosh even, used faces in their designs quite a bit to add interest and i guess a touch of humour. The rails feature the typical voysey curved pattern, which is echoed with the upstand. The Gothic ogee shaped bottom of the sides is typical of Voysey's later interest in and use of Gothic elements. Normal table height.

As this vanity stand is different to a built-in vanity cupboard, it appears visually lighter and more open. But you do not have any storage with this option. Shown here in light, medium & dark oak finishes, but could quite easily be painted, as shown. The sizes could be varied a bit. You could choose any worktop you wanted, from granite, marble, Corian, etc. Made to order.

We used this original design idea from Voysey to produce new designs for a side table and a display cabint, which are shown in the furniture sections.
