A copy of a Tyrolean marriage bed, of 1771, with matching furniture, in a style that could best be described as country Baroque. The furniture and room were treated as a unified whole for this striking interior. Marriage beds, in central Europe, often formed part of a bride's dowry, and included a suite of furntiure. Which is what we tried to capture with this suite.

The neutral toned walls provide a contrast to the richly painted furniture, in deep blues and greens with marbled & hand painted panels. The furniture painting really is a tour de force of folk art. The walls are cream colour up to the frieze, and white above; the wall stencils visually tied everything together. Made to commission.

The bed can be supplied as a single, double or king-size. There are many similar beds possible with this style; we've shown another couple on another page. Please enquire further. It is supplied with slats, but we can also supply high quality sprung Beech slats.
