This is a striking piece of art furniture sure to be the focal point in any interior. The bookcase whilst very practical & offering plenty of storage, is essentially a large canvas for the hand painted door designs. These bookcases were inspired by an early Omega Workshops design by Vanessa c.1916. A flat design adapts easily to other flat surfaces, so we adapted the design for a matching sideboard, a table & vanity units as well, see those sections. Rather than follow the example of the original artists, in Omega & Bloomsbury, and decorate secondhand pieces of found furniture, we design & produce pieces from new with the designs planned from the start to create unified pieces.

The bookcase is shown as 3, 4 & 5 bay versions. The 4 bay is interesting for the asymetrical look. The 4 and 5 bay versions show the central 3 bay section as a breakfront for added interest. We've shown the bookcases with empty shelves and full shelves, for an interesting comparison. The idea is to show how as designers we can produce all sorts of variations and combinations, as these are made bespoke. The bookcases are shown freestanding but they could be built-in if preferred. They aremade to order, so you can change the proportions to some extent, within reason due to the front design. This would be made bespoke to order, so we don't discuss sizes or quotes until we have agreed a spec. with a customer.
