This bookcase design was inspired by a piece of Bloomsbury art taken out of context and blown up in scale, to almost Pop Art style. It makes for one very striking bookcase which would definately be the focal point of any interior. As the bookcase is made to order we can change the size / proportion to some extent. The carcase of the bookcase is a light wood tone, to emphasis the rich painted colours, but it could be many other finishes if you prefer. The design above has exagerated the doors design, but the following ones have a smaller pattern, that we think works better visually.

The bookcase whilst very practical & offering plenty of storage and display space, is essentially a large canvas for the hand painted door design. Rather than follow the example of the original artists, in Omega & Bloomsbury, and decorate second hand pieces of found furniture, we design & produce pieces from new with the designs planned from the start to create unified pieces. Having a cornice gives the piece more of a traditional flavour, and no cornice gives a more modern cleaner look. We've also showed a version below where the top is made narrower than the base for a more unusual design. The idea is to show how as designers we can produce all sorts of variations and combinations, as these are made bespoke. The bookcases are shown freestanding but they could be built-in if preferred. As made bespoke to order, so we don't discuss sizes or quotes until we have agreed a spec. with a customer.
