As furniture designers we like to mix things up and produce new work based on the original work that inspired it. This is another good example of that, combining the old with the new to arrive at new pieces. Above is shown a 3 door low sideboard and below is shown a wall hung sideboard cabinet or console table. Both are totally minimalist in form, far removed from the more traditional looking furnture associated with Bloomsbury. But by applying the Bloomsbury inspired design to these we arrived at new beautiful artistic and practical furniture. The inspiration for these pieces was a painted bed by Duncan Grant. The rich abstract design and colours depict 'Morpheus', the God of Sleep. The painted front makes a wonderful focal point for an artistic interior for sure.
The cabinets can be either a hinged door (on a push catch) or a single drawer or long door. The worktop could be painted in any of the colours of the main design, but it could also be stone (marble, granite, Quartz, limestone), Corian, glass, wood, etc.. It is made to order, so you can change the sizes / proportions some, within reason keeping the front proportion. We don't discuss sizes or pricing until we've agreed the finished design details with a client.
