This table lamp is one of our own designs inspired by a painted bookcase at Charleston. A striking design, it relies as usual on simple shapes and great colour ideas. You could add a painted shade to this or use a Bloomsbury fabric. The hardest decision to make when commissioning a piece like this is whether to have it look newly painted or distress to make it look like an older antique piece. Bespoke made to order. we do not give prices or sizes until we have agree a spec with a customer.
Lamps like these are not an 'off the shelf' item, they are specially made to order. They are expensive to make like most quality craft items. The following photos show the process a bit more clearly, taking a blank canvas table lamp base, priming it, base painting it, then building up the design, on all faces, one colour at a time. Unlike many original pieces this table lamp was designed to the scale of the design. The main column setion has mitre corners, more work, but the advantage is you do not get any 'end grain' when painting, so each face is clean. We'll add the rest of these photos soon.
