The pink nude with red poppies design was originally produced by Vanessa for the Omega Workshops c.1916. The flat design transfers well to the flat surface of a table top, and the colours and loose vibrant brushwork leave a wonderful artistic effect, a piece of art you can use every day. The base is quite straight forward and made of painted wood, but could be left in a wood finish. The table top is clear lacquered/varnished for daily protection, but you could also add a sheet of glass for long term durability.
We can supply this design as a breakfast table or a larger dining table or as a smaller coffee table; as it's made to order we can adapt the sizes so long as we keep these proportions. The table formed part of a new range of furniture using this design, which included a sideboard, bookcases, vanity unit, etc., some are shown below, but you can see more in the relevant sections. We don't discuss prices until we have agreed a spec. with a customer.
Rather than follow the example of the original artists, in Omega & Bloomsbury, and decorate secondhand pieces of found furniture, we design & produce pieces from new with the designs planned from the start to create unified new pieces. As you can imagine if you were to commission a new vanity unit and a large painting like this seperately they would not come cheap, we've just combined the 2. The bathroom pieces are shown in a clean new painted finish, but we can antique & generally batter these pieces a bit to give them an older look if you prefer.
