These new sofas designs are something of a departure from the usual Bloomsbury Omega work we do and an interesting progression of these ideas. While designing some new Islamic style low sofas (Majlis) the idea that some of the shapes would be really suit Bloomsbury style decoration. The result was some very contemporary cool looking designs, quite far removed from the often secondhand roughly painted pieces of the originals, but still respecting the original designs. And why Islamic style low sofas? Because they are used for informal sitting of family & friends and lend themselves well to bohemian interiors, and the Bloomsbury artists would fit the image of bohemians!
This low sofa design has a boxy minimalist shape set off by the lovely typical Bloomsbury border design on the apron. The upholstered seat cushions colours compliment and contrast well with the border pattern and colours. Scatter cusions can add secondary highlight colours. As this is made bespoke we can change the overall colour scheme and upholstery, and the dimensions, within reason, to your requirements, and we can even incorporate storage in the base. We can also supply matching side or coffee tables, as shown below, which can give more flexibility in room arrangement of the furniture, and allows the use of L shape layouts. We ask the customer to supply the fabric they want to use (COM) or we supply these for the customer to have it upholstered at their end. We don't discuss prices until we agreed an exact specification with a client.
