This new range of Gothic bathroom vanity units offers a new take on Gothic style furniture. Un-mistakably Gothic in style it has a cleaner more contemporary look, although the colours & finishes and especially the decorative door panels really lift them way above the usual. The aim with this piece is to not look like a modern built-in vanity unit, but instead to look like a freestanding piece of gothic furniture. Hence this stand alone piece, which looks more like a desk or console table. We included a large matching wall mirror, which adds even more Gothic influence.

The sit-on basin gives it a more contemporary look, but this was a practical necessity as the basin & waste would be visible below the middle fixed apron if an undermounted sink was used. Although shown with a contemorary looking rectangular sink, you could have this as a round or oval shaped sink, and maybe in a more traditional finish, like brass, copper, stone or a glazed painted design. The advantage of the desk like shape, with open space in the middle, is twofold; visually it makes for a more open looking piece of furniture, plus it allows the person more space standing in front of the vanity.

These pieces can go from a plain single overall colour to quite ornate. The door panels, with architectural Lancet shapes, the Tudor arches, castellated mirror cornice & chamfered plinth all give these plenty of Gothic detailing. The door panels can be further eleborated as shown in some examples below. You could also have the door panels glazed with glass or mirrors. There is more than a hint of Pugin in some of these designs. The doors are shown with simple knobs, but could look even more impressive with ornate Gothic door handles. Bespoke made to order; we don't do quotations until we've agreed a spec with a client.

While we can do most pieces in a range of woods and wood finishes, our real interest is in the new styles we're doing. There are non standard sizes we do these, as they are made bespoke; but that does give us the flexibility to design matching bathroom furniture, including storage cupboards, bath panels, etc. As all of these pieces are made bespoke we can change the dimensions, within reason, to whatever you want; that is the real beauty of bespoke work. These vanities can be made with 2, 3 or 4 doors. Also, they are shown as freestanding models but they can be built-in as well. They are usually fitted with an internal shelf. Work tops can be stone (ie quartz, granite, marble, limestone, etc), Corian, glass, wood etc. Unless we supply it with a wood top we generally don't supply the worktop, for a couple of reasons. First it saves a lot of weight & cost for shipping and avoids the risk of damage. Also, you are better visiting a local supplier to choose the exact colour and finish you want, this is a very subjective thing and photos don't really do it justice.

The above 2 designs show how we can change the proportions to your requirements and how that can change the look. So the vanity & mirror could be narrower or wider. Or the mirror could be taller. The mirror doesn't need to sit on the vanity even, it can be wall mounted above it.
